Our Sodding Work
Natural grass, either through sodding or seeding, is the traditional choice for a beautiful lawn. Seeding is the most cost-effective option, but takes time to grow into a mature lawn. Sod provides an instant lawn - more expensive, but the results are immediate.
For the perfect yard, we strip out the old layer of sod and haul it away. We start by shaping the lawn's sub-base - usually a sandy mix of topsoil - to ensure proper drainage. Everything needs to slope away from all buildings. At the same time, the shaping process firms up the ground using the weight of our grading equipment.
It's important to determine beforehand whether sod or seed will be used, because it affects the finished grade height. Sod, being thick, needs specific consideration when laying it along sidewalks or driveways for proper water shed. Both methods require careful preparation and the right topsoil conditions.
If you're looking for a low-maintenance option, artificial turf is an excellent choice. Although more expensive, it always looks great, requires no watering, and comes with a long-lasting warranty. It's also a great solution for pet owners.
